Schools of the future will be more informal, have flexible learning environments and recreational spaces with more nature involved. There will also be more personalized and research-based learning using digital technology.

For this context I designed “COUCH” which is a wooden indoor recreational space for pupils to rest and learn in quiet surrounded by elements of nature. It offers space for about 1-3 children depending on the sitting position.

Furthermore “COUCH” includes five containers to grow bamboo in which can be taken out for better handling. Cushions and a mattress on the inside guarantee comfortable sitting.

Moreover the object uses the shape language and style of the furniture company “Ahrend” to propose a possible part of a product range for elementary schools of the future.
